The 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation is taking place in the Chinese capital on September 3 and 4.It brings together China and the 53 African countries with which it has diplomatic relations plus the African Union.

Under their existing cooperation framework, China and Africa ushered into a golden period of accelerated cooperation after the inception of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2000. As more and more African countries have reached agreements with China to jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative, an increasing number of cooperation projects are steadily advancing and expanding.

China-Africa cooperation in the new stage not only injects new impetus into Africa’s future development, but also expands possibilities for deep coordination between the Belt and Road Initiative and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
